*RARE MARLIN MODEL 1894 DELUXE TAKE-DOWN 2 BARREL SET. SN 230195. Cal. 32-20 & 25-20, both 26″ oct bbls, full mag take-down, German silver rocky mountain front sight, V-notch sporting rear sight with set screw. Top flats of each bbl are marked the same “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893”. Caliber markings adjacent receiver ring are “32-W” and “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top flat marked “MARLIN SAFETY” and top tang “MODEL / 1894”. Mounted with lightly figured straight grain walnut, checkered pistol grip, Marlin hard rubber buttplate, standard forends with diamond checkered bottom and nose caps. Inspection of inside tangs was not attempted. Accompanied by a 1977 dated Factory letter stating ship date of 10/16/1902 as a .25/20 w/ 26″ TD Oct bbl,R.B., PG stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. Factory letter. CONDITION: Fine+. Bbls and magazines retain 95% orig blue with normal minor nicks & dings, showing bright on sharp edges and a couple minor spots of fine surface oxidation. Receiver retains 90-95% orig case colors, thinning in areas but bright in protected areas. There is a small spot on each side of faint surface oxidation. Hammer shows nearly all of its orig case colors. Lever has good orig case colors in protected areas with balance blending a silver patina. Stock is sound with slightly worn checkering, a few nicks, dings & handling marks and retains its orig high-gloss finish. Forends are sound with slightly worn checkering, some minor nicks, dings & handling marks and retain their orig high-gloss finish. Mechanics are crisp. 32 cal. bbl with nice shiny bore is slightly loose on receiver. 25 cal. with nice shiny bore and has proper fit to receiver. 4-40368 BDT221 (4,000-7,000)
