JOHN MARIN (American, 1870-1953) “LOBSTERMAN’S PIER, PORT CLYDE, MAINE”. Watercolor of a Maine scene shows the Port Clyde harbor with buildings, docks and boats. A green forested shoreline. Signed bottom right “Marin ‘23”. A typed piece of paper on the back indicates “This watercolor scene painted by John Marin at Port Clyde, Maine, in June of 1923 and given to Dock Attendant Avery Bullock in appreciation, for his Yeoman’s work…”. Housed in what appears to be its original oak frame. SIGHT SIZE: 11-1/4” x 15-1/2”. CONDITION: All over even toning, scratch to upper left. Otherwise very good. 9-90273 LG (6,000-8,000)
