SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1881 SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 493. 26” rnd bbl. Standard Model 1873 markings on lockplate. Only date, 1881, appears on breechblock. “SWP” cartouche is dated 1883. Forearm ramrod channel has been filled with dowel, and single screw attaching bbl to stock goes through this. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with scattered surface rust and light pitting. Some light repairs at front of lockplate with cracks at lockplate screws. Mechanically good. Bore is poor. Edwards Collection 4-58485 FS151 (1,500-2,000)
