*TURNBULL RESTORED SPECIAL ORDER 32 INCH MARLIN 1894. SN 183348. Cal. 25-20, 32″ oct to rnd bbl with flush magazine, German silver rocky mountain front sight, V-notch sporting rear with set screw. Top flat of bbl is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893”. Adjacent receiver “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top marked “MARLIN SAFETY”. Top tang marked “MODEL / 1894”. Mounted with lightly fiddle-backed walnut, uncheckered straight grip, crescent steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Inspection of inside tangs reveals matching serial number on left side of top tang and no number in tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new since restoration. Bbl retains virtually all of its fine restored blue with perhaps a couple of tiny handling marks. Receiver retains virtually all of its fine restored case color as well as lever and hammer. Replacement stock retains all of its fine proper custom finish with a couple of minor handling marks. Buttplate retains all of its restored case colors. Forend is sound and retains all of its fine proper restored finish. Nose cap retains all of its restored blue.
