*BROWNING NEW STYLE SKEET MIDAS GRADE SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. SN 23400S70. Cal. 12 ga. 26-1/2″ bbl, hand filed vent rib, sgl Ivory sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chambers, SK/SK chocked, gold sgl selective trigger and ejectors. Left side of bbl is marked “”BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS MO. & MONTREAL P.Q./MADE IN BELGIUM” and right side “SPECIAL STEEL-12GA-SHELLS 2-3/4″/PATENTS NO 2203.378-2233.86”. Each side of rib has 2-1/4″ wedge of foliate scroll engraving with punch dot background. Standard Midas grade receiver with bold foliate scroll and punch dot background with 3 gold pheasants in flight, and gold wire on left side, 3 gold ducks in flight and gold wire on right and gold quail in flight on bottom. Gun is signed on both sides, lower end of receiver “BLEUS”. Mounted with dark piece of highly figured walnut with checkered pistol grip, flat knob, short tang, Browning vented recoil pad and checkered flat bottom beavertail target forend. Bore diameter: top -.723, bottom -.724. Bore restrictions: top -.005, bottom -.005. Wall thickness: top -.035, bottom -.034. Drop at heel: 1-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 5 oz. LOP 14-3/8″. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retained 97-98% orig blue with rub mark forward to forend, and a few minor nicks and handling marks. Receiver has nearly all of its orig blue with just a trace of silver showing through on sharp edges. Stock is sound with minor nicks and dings and some flaked finish near recoil pad that has been restored with oil, carries most of its orig finish that has had the shine soften. The forend is sound with usual light handling marks and retains most of its orig finish. Mechanics are crisp, strong ejectors, and bright shiny bores. 4-33897 BDT103 (7,500-12,500)
