*SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN MODEL 94 WITH 32 INCH BARREL. SN 415342. Cal. 38-40, 32″ oct bbl, 29-1/2″ magazine, German silver rocky mountain front sight, V-notch sporting rear with set screw. Top flat of bbl marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN. CT, U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver “38-40”. Top tang marked “MARLIN / MODEL ’94.” Mounted with streaky straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, curved steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Inspection of inside tang reveals matching “415342” number on left side of top tang, as well as top tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very Fine. Bbl and mag tube retain 95% orig blue with normal nicks, dings & fine scratches, a couple of minor areas of faint surface oxidation. Receiver retains 98% bright strong orig case colors with a few minor nicks & scratches and just showing bright on sharp edges. Hammer shows dark orig blue with a few faint scratches showing silver. Lever shows dark orig case colors starting to fade on bottom of loop. Stock is sound with minor nicks, dings & shallow scratches, some areas of flaked orig varnish but retaining most of its orig varnish. Forend is sound with nicks, dings & shallow dents, retaining most of its orig varnish. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore. 4-40387 BDT195 (3,500-5,000)
