MARTIALLY MARKED REMINGTON MODEL 1871 ROLLING BLOCK ARMY PISTOL. Cal. 50 CF. NSN. One of about 5,000 pistols made for the Army with 8″ rnd bbl, pinched blade front sight and a sight notch on the top of the breech block. It has a tiny splinter forearm and 1-piece walnut grip with sharp “CRS” cartouche on the left side. The frame has usual markings. CONDITION: Extremely fine, the bbl retains 95-96% strong original blue with light muzzle wear and a few light nicks. The frame retains virtually all of its original case colors, slightly faded, bright in the sheltered areas. The front and back straps are a gray metal color. The wood is sound with usual light handling & use marks and retains most of its fine oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-53472 JR864 (1,500-2,500)
