*SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN MODEL 94 DELUXE TAKE-DOWN WITH 32 INCH BARREL. SN 347270. Cal. 25-20, 32″ oct to rnd bbl, half magazine take-down, German silver rocky mountain front sight, V-notch sporting rear with set screw. Top of bbl flat is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN. CT, U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.” Standard receiver with top tang marked “MARLIN / MODEL ’94.” Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, S-cut steel buttplate, standard forend with diamond checkered bottom with nose cap. Inspection of inside tang reveals matching number “347270” on left side of top tang and top tang channel of stock. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 80-85% orig blue with minor muzzle wear, rubbed areas on rnd portion blending with silver patina and showing bright on sharp edges of oct. Receiver retains 80-85% thinning orig case colors, bright in protected areas, with areas blending with sliver patina. Stock is sound with slightly worn checkering, typical nicks, dings & scratches and retains a hand-rubbed high-gloss finish. Forend is sound with moderately worn checkering, typical nicks, dings & scratches and retains a hand-worn patina blending with orig varnish. Mechanics are crisp with a slightly dark bore with some fine scattered pitting. 4-40389 BDT194 (3,000-5,000)
