*SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN MODEL 94 TAKE-DOWN WITH 32 INCH BARREL. SN A1073. Cal. 25-20, 32″ slightly tapered oct bbl, 29-1/2″ magazine take-down, Lyman combination front sight, V-notch sporting rear. Top flat of bbl is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN. CT, U.S.A. / PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUGUST 1. 1893.” Adjacent take-down ring “25-20M”. Standard receiver with top tang with Lyman short-base locking peep sight. Mounted with dark streaky walnut, uncheckered straight grip, curved steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. No inspection of lower tang was made due to frozen screw. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Fine+. Bbl and mag tube retain 80-85% orig blue with some areas thinning and blending with silver patina, bright on sharp edges and some spotting of fine surface oxidation. Receiver retains 80% strong orig case colors fading on bottom and right side with spots of silver and brown patina. Hammer shows strong orig blue with some minor silvering on right side. Lever shows fading orig case colors, stronger in protected areas and blending with silver and brown patina. Stock is sound with some nicks & scratches and 3 linear shallow dents on lower right side, some areas of flaked orig varnish that has been cleaned. Forend is sound with some nicks and shallow dings, retaining most of its orig varnish with a couple small areas that have flaked. Mechanics are crisp, slightly dark bore with shallow pitting in grooves. 4-40402 BDT196 (4,000-7,000)
