SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1888 RIFLE WITH RAMROD BAYONET AND SLING. Cal. 50/70. SN 541446. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. “SWP” cartouche dated 1892. Issue marks “25 / 19” on right side of stock. “19 / 25TH”on tang of buttplate. Two-hook sling is unmarked. CONDITION: Very good to fine. 40% blue mixed with brown patina on bbl and lockplate. Mostly brown patina on trigger guard and buttplate. 70% casehardening colors on breechblock. Mechanically fine. Bore is evenly pitted. Sling is scuffed and cracked.
