MARLIN MODEL 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE. SN 137732. Cal .44-40. Bbl is 20″ carbine style with integral carbine front sight with carbine leaf rear sight. Bbl marking “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PAT’D OCT. 11, 1887. APRIL 2, 1889.. AUG. 1, 1893.”Full length mag, standard blued receiver with saddle ring. The receiver top is marked “MARLIN SAFETY”, top tang marked “Model/1894”. Standard carbine stock and forend of nicely figured black walnut, steel carbine buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Overall good. Thinning bbl and mag tube blue mixing with patina. Receiver has good blue in the protected areas mixing with patina and areas of silvering. Buttstock has a small grain crack behind the top tang, stock and forend have good finish with normal wear and handling marks. Bore is fair overall with small areas of heavier pitting.
