*EXCEPTIONAL MARLIN MODEL 94 SADDLE RING CARBINE. SN 444621. Cal .44-40. Carbine style 20″ bbl with integral carbine front sight and carbine leaf rear sight. Bbl markings are “Marlin Firearms Co., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PAT’D OCT. 11, 1887. APRIL 2, 1889. AUG. 1, 1893.” Full mag. Standard blued carbine receiver with saddle ring. Top tang marked “Marlin/MODEL’94”. Standard carbine style stock and forend with steel carbine buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. 98% bbl and mag tube blue with very light handling marks. Receiver has 95% blue with light edge wear, some light scratches and patina on the top tang. Lever has vivid case colors in the protected areas becoming lighter on the bottom. Buttplate has very good blue with scattered surface oxidization and pitting. Sound stock and forend with good finish showing normal wear and handling marks. Crisp mechanics and an excellent bore. 4-40420 DS33 (3,500-5,000)
