WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF. SN 118093. Standard grade rifle, 26” oct bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood, straight stock & crescent buttplate with trap. The bbl has a modified front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight. Accompanied by Winchester Museum letter identifying this rifle and indicating that it was shipped Sept. 4, 1883. CONDITION: Fair to good, no original finish remains, being an artificially aged gray color with heavy pitting on the bbl, lighter pitting on receiver & sideplates, the wood has usual handling & use marks with a couple of heavy gouges on the stock. The dust cover will not retract with the bolt, worn dark bore. 4-51563 JR767 (400-700)
