PATENT MODELS: LOT OF 4. 1) Sewer Gas Trap By Frank O. Cudell. Original patent tag #201,161, dated March 12, 1878. Curved lead drainpipe with glass topped funnel attachment with ball inside. SIZE: 7 1/2″ w. x 9 1/2″ t. x 5″ d. CONDITION: Pipe ends are crimped, various small dents, otherwise good. 2) Retorts For Concentrating Sulphuric Acid By Perrin & Saunders. Original patent tag #78,760, dated June 9, 1868. Lead globe with two top holes and long side spout. SIZE: 5″ t. x 8″ l. CONDITION: Various dents in globe, top portion is pushed in slightly. 3) Retort For Distilling Oil From Coal By W.G.W. Jaeger. Original patent tag #24,217, dated May 31, 1859. Molded hollow lead model, painted in cream, stenciled with inventor’s name, Baltimore, MD. SIZE: 10 3/4″ l. x 5 3/4″ t. CONDITION: Various dents and significant paint loss, one leg bent and seemingly missing two others. 4) Pan For Concentrating Sulphuric Acid By Marcelin & Saunders. Original patent tag #77,202, dated April 28, 1868. Model appears to be a full size hammered lead pan with attached sleeve for a wood or metal handle. SIZE: 8” dia x 2-1/2” t. CONDITION: Surface of lead has been coated with unknown material or has possibly been well used; several dents. 1-1371, 1-1441, 1-1453, 1-1484 (250-500)
