MARCUS WATERMAN (American, 1834-1914) “APPLE ORCHARD NEW ENGLAND FARM”. Oil on canvas landscape scene shows four blossoming apple trees with rocks and pasture. Three cows are seen lying down in clearing. Bright blue sky with pinkish white clouds. Unsigned front but old label to reverse with title and artist. Also presentation label “Presented to Eliott House by Mr. & Mrs. Franchi, Oct 1, 1950 Artist was Uncle of Mr. Franchi”. Housed in a textured gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 16-1/4” x 20-1/2”.
