*EXTREMELY RARE MARLIN MODEL 94 SRC CUTAWAY. SN 306067. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). Fine factory cutaway with 20″ bbl, full magazine, barleycorn front sight and carbine ladder rear sight missing the stop screw. Mounted with uncheckered straight grain American walnut with straight stock & Marlin carbine buttplate, and a sgl bbl band. Left side of receiver is mounted with a staple & ring. Receiver has four machined holes in the left side and two in the right side which exposes the internal workings. Receiver, hammer & buttplate are “in the white”. It appears that Mr. Rohal probably discovered this cutaway receiver and assembled it with spare parts. Buttstock is probably from a Model 93 as the fit is not of Marlin quality. The floorplate & bottom tang still have rough machine marks and the SN is electric pencil applied. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Good. Bbl & magazine tube retain about 95% strong restored blue with a repair in the magazine tube. Receiver, hammer & buttplate are still “in the white”, as noted, with some light stains on receiver and scattered light rust on buttplate. Lever is a restored dark patina. Forearm is sound and retains strong orig type oil finish. Butt stock has a chip by the top tang with light handling & storage marks and retains most of a restored finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-40360 JR302 (3,000-5,000)
