SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLE WITH BAYONET. Cal. 45/70. SN 465568. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Standard markings on lockplate and breechblock. “SWP” cartouche dated 1889. Standard features. 18-1/2” bayonet with metal scabbard and brass hanger on leather frog. CONDITION: Excellent. 95% blue on bbl, 90% on lockplate, 50% on buttplate. Brilliant casehardening colors on breechblock. Mechanically fine. Bright bore. Bayonet is excellent with slight wear on edges. Frog is chipped and cracked.
