2ND MODEL MERWIN & HULBERT OPEN TOP REVOLVER. Cal. appears to be 44 M&H. SN 3928 Nickel finish with 7” bbl, pinched integral front sight, open top with scooped flutes and detent on the bbl release lever. It has worn, unnumbered walnut grips and lanyard loop in the butt. The parts all bear the assembly numbers 2236 except the bbl, which is numbered 2226 (assembler’s error?). CONDITION: Fair. Traces of original nickel remain on the bbl, mostly legible bbl address on top. Cylinder and frame retains 40-50% original nickel with scattered moderate to heavy pitting overall. Mechanics are fine, bore is dark with strong rifling and a ring about 3” from muzzle. Grips are old replacement and very worn, missing a chip on the left side. 4-51262 JR5 (500-1,000)
