PATENT MODELS: LOT OF 3. 1) Fireplace By George W. Lucas. Original patent tag #174,829, dated March 14, 1876. This soldered tin metal fireplace insert was way before its time in what has lately become the trend with modern metal pre-fab fireplace installations. Assembly consists of a corrugated and curved interior metal liner, a raised hearth, and an enclosed side wall construction. Somewhat less craftsmanship in its assembly than seen with other models. SIZE: 3-1/2” l x 5-1/4” t x 1-1/2” d. CONDITION: Appears more recent red paint, otherwise good condition. 2) Mode Of Securing Handle To Tin Cups By Chas. S. S. Baron. Original patent tag #190,537, dated May 8, 1877. Soldered seam tin cup with handle that has been riveted at the bottom with a portion soldered over the top rim of the cup. SIZE: 3-3/4” d. CONDITION: Good with small dent. 3) Inkstand By Perry And Perry. Original patent tag #70,893, dated November 12, 1867. Blue ceramic inkwell signed on bottom “Perry & Co., London”. Inkwell features integral overflow bottom plate and a rubber stopper also marked “Perry & Co.”. SIZE: 5-1/4” d x 3” t.
