*RARE DELUXE #3/5 ENGRAVED MARLIN MODEL 27S PUMP ACTION RIFLE. SN 9007. Cal. 25-20. Beautiful Marlin rifle with 24″ tapered rnd bbl, ivory bead front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Top flat has standard markings and it has 2/3 magazine. Rifle is mounted with “A” style checkered, very nicely figured American walnut with tapered rnd forearm and straight stock with crescent steel buttplate. Receiver is beautifully engraved in a strong No. 3 (perhaps higher) pattern by Conrad Ulrich with the vignette of a standing whitetail buck on left side and an 8-pointed star on right side. Both sides have full coverage foliate arabesque patterns with heart shaped borders. Top of receiver and bolt are engraved to match with arabesque pattern engraving down the top edges. Bottom of receiver has fine arabesque patterns. The engraving extends over the top & side flats of the bbl with light arabesque patterns. Buttplate has light arabesque patterns around the screw holes. SN is on left side of the top tang under the wood, in top tang channel and inside buttplate. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching. The metal retains virtually all of its strong orig factory blue with only a few tiny nicks on sharp edges and slight wear on the slide rod. Wood is sound with a few very scattered, very minor storage & handling marks and retains virtually all of its wonderful orig oil finish.
