*DELUXE #10 ENGRAVED & GOLD INLAID MARLIN MODEL 20 PUMP ACTION RIFLE. SN 9125. Cal. 22. Spectacular little Marlin with 23″ tapered oct bbl, ivory bead front sight, slot blank in the rear seat and a Marbles locking tang sight. Mounted with fabulous flame & shell grain American walnut with “F” style checkered rnd forearm and straight grip stock with semi-crescent buttplate. Receiver is spectacularly engraved, by Conrad Ulrich with the large vignette of two squirrels in a tree on the left side with simple line & gold wire borders and two rabbits in a field scene with a tree in the background on the right side, also with line & gold wire borders. Both sides have full coverage, wonderful, intertwined foliate arabesque patterns with fine punch dot background. Top of the receiver ring is engraved in a foliate spray with gold & platinum inlaid bands at the front edge and gold & platinum inlaid bands at the receiver end of the bbl. Bottom of receiver is engraved in matching foliate arabesque patterns and the trigger in simple arabesque patterns. Top edges of the receiver are engraved in tapering snake patterns and the bottom edges in a chip pattern. Engraving extends about 2″ over the top & side flats in simple arabesque patterns. Buttplate is engraved with fine foliate arabesque patterns around screw holes and in the center with a diamond checkered central medallion. SN is on left side of top tang under the wood, in top tang channel of butt stock and inside the buttplate. A truly spectacular little rifle. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching. Bbl retains 97-98% strong orig blue with extremely fine sharp edge wear and a series of 3 or 4 small scratches on right top flat about even with the tip of the forearm. Top flat has one small area of pitting about 3″ back of front sight and another small spot on top flat just forward of the address. Magazine tube is mostly a blue/gray patina with heavy wear on the slide rod. Bottom tang is a plum blue patina, as is the buttplate. Wood is sound with a few light nicks & scratches in the finish, the checkering shows light wear and overall retains most of its orig piano varnish finish.
