RARE EVANS FLINTLOCK MARTIAL PISTOL.

RARE EVANS FLINTLOCK MARTIAL PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 73. 8-1/2” rnd bbl. Marked “EVANS” on the lock plate. This is a copy of the French ANXIII martial pistol. There was no official contract for these pistols, but this, like all the other known specimens, has a large, sunken “P” proof mark at the rear of the bbl. There are no assembly marks inside the lock, and the parts are somewhat crudely filed. Ramrod is a replacement. CONDITION: Metal has been cleaned, but some pitting remains. Stock has been repaired, sanded, and refinished, with chips and cracks remaining. Bbl band is loose. Lock is functional. 4-58284 FS31 (2,000-3,000)
