RARE FIGURAL CAST IRON CANDY BALANCE SCALE BY IVES BLAKESLEE. A young man sitting in the middle and a young lass with a basket in her lap at the end facing him. At the opposite end is a simulated woven basket. Candies would have been placed in the woven basket and the appropriate amount of pennies would have been placed in the young lady’s basket thus measuring out the proper payment for the candies. Intricately cast and polychromed in black with several colors highlighting the boy and girl. SIZE: 10″ l. CONDITION: Very fine original condition but could benefit by a cleaning to bring out this toy’s true beauty and appeal. 1-8127 (2,500-3,500)
