*RARE L.C. SMITH TRAP GRADE SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN. SN R98856. Cal. 12 ga. 30″ bbls, vented, tapered, matte rib with dual ivory sighting beads, 3″ chambers, choked IMP-CYL / MOD, Hunter One trigger & ejectors. Right bbl marked “L.C. SMITH TRAP GRADE” and left “HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. M’F’R’S FULTON, N.Y. U.S.A.”. Trap grade receiver is engraved with some minimal scroll borders, with a squad of trap shooters & “L.C. SMITH” on left side plate, & live bird shooter & “L.C. SMITH” on right side plate. Bottom of bbl lug has minimal scroll engraving & marked “WILD FOWL”. Trigger plate is marked “HUNTER / ONE / TRIGGER”. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, wrap-around checkered pistol grip with ebony grip cap, Silvers recoil pad, checkered beavertail forend with Schnable tip. Bore diameter: left -.728, right -.730. Bore restrictions: left -.015, right -.008. Wall thickness: left -.033, right -.028. Drop at heel: 1-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 8 lbs. 3 oz. LOP 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90-95% blue with minor muzzle wear, some rub marks from forend, slight thinning in chamber area & a few minor handling marks. Receiver retains 60-70% case colors blended with silver hardening & gray patina across bottom. Stock is sound, with repaired crack behind left side plate, hairline crack behind right & minor chip repair behind top tang; stock has a few minor handling marks with crisp repointed checkering & a fine professional hand-rubbed restored oil finish. Forend is sound, with a few minor handling marks & professionally repointed checkering, retaining most of a fine hand-rubbed oil finish, with a slight amount of wear across bottom.
