WHITNEY KENNEDY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal 44. SN 423. Standard grade rifle with 24” oct bbl, half nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight with homemade elevator. It has earlier “S” type lever with uncheckered wood and straight stock with semi-crescent buttplate with trap. Top tang has been drilled and tapped for a sight. CONDITION: Very good, as refinished, with the bbl and magazine tube retaining a light gray patina, a couple of hammer marks and some scattered light pitting. Receiver has several small nicks and scratches with a couple of battered screws. Wood is sound and retains most of its refinish. Strong bright bore with light pitting. 4-50693 JR22 (600-1,000)
