RARE MEXICAN WAR VETERAN MEDAL WITH RARE ZACHARY TAYLOR PORTRAIT DAGUERREOTYPE CASE. Papier mache case with front cover featuring bust portrait of Zachary Taylor in full military regalia. Stored within the case is a period & orig, brass, high relief, shield shaped medal depicting eagle, cannons, banners & soldiers in relief above and below “N.Y. Veterans of the Mexican War”. Retains its orig pin on reverse but missing its hasp. SIZE: Dag case: 3-1/2″wide x 4″ high. Medal: approx 2″x2″. CONDITION: Case is good, missing clasp.
