*SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN MODEL 94 WITH 32 INCH BARREL. SN 395789. Cal. 38-40, 32″ rnd bbl, 29-1/2″ mag tube, German silver rocky mountain front sight, V-notch sporting rear with set screw. Top of bbl is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO., NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D OCT. 11. 1887. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 1. 1893.” Adjacent receiver “38-40”. Standard receiver top tang mark “MARLIN / MODEL ’94”. Mounted with straight grain walnut, uncheckered straight grip, curved steel buttplate, standard forend with nose cap. Inspection of inside tangs reveals matching “395789” number on left side of top tang and number in tang channel of stock is “372470”. PROVENANCE: Richard Rohal Estate Collection CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 90-95% orig blue with minor muzzle wear, some minor nicks & dings and some areas with some fine, fuzzy surface oxidation. Magazine tube retains 90% orig blue that is toning somewhat purple with numerous nicks, dings & light scratches. Receiver retains 95% strong orig bright case colors with some minor scratches and left side with minor surface oxidation, mostly in lacquer coating. Hammer shows good, dark orig case colors. Lever with traces of orig color blending with gray patina. Stock is sound with nicks, scratches & minor dents and retains much of its orig varnish finish. Forend is sound with short hairline grain crack on left side, numerous nicks, dings & bruises, retaining much of its orig varnish blended with hand-worn patina. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore. 4-40388 BDT198 (2,500-4,000)
