*REMINGTON M-40 SPECIFICATION SNIPER/TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 308. SN E6430525. Built by Gunnery Sgt. David Clark of the Marine Corps Precision Weapons Shop, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA on a Remington Model 700 action precisely duplicating the USMC Viet Nam era specifications for the M40 sniper rifle. Gunnery Sgt. Clark is the armorer who built the M40 sniper rifle for the famous Viet Nam era Marine Corps sniper, Sgt. Mulhenney who was one of the top snipers in Viet Nam. This rifle has a 24” heavy tapered rnd bbl, without sights, with all metal having a satin gray parkerized finish with Redfield base & rings mounted in a glass bedded, uncheckered, very nicely figured, American walnut 1-pc stock with checkered Remington alloy buttplate.
