*FASCINATING CASED CUSTOM L.C. SMITH 4-BBL SET. SN 123306. Cal. 410; 32-20; 25-20. 2 SETS of 410 bbls: 1ST SET 28″ raised, tapered, matted rib with dual brass sighting beads, 3″ chambers, FULL / FULL chokes with ejectors, marked on right bbl “L.C. SMITH” and on left “FULTON, N.Y., U.S.A.”; 2ND SET 28″ raised, tapered rib with sgl brass sighting bead, 3″ chambers, FULL / FULL chokes with ejectors; bbls were left FULL / FULL to allow new owner to choke as desired. Trim, elegant, fully-checkered beavertail forend with banjo latch is shared by these bbls. The 2 rifle bbls are each 26″ with raised, tapered rib, fine gold bead front sight, 2-leaf rear sight with one standing & one flip-up with gold center lines; bbls marked on right “L.C. SMITH” and on left with caliber designation & “FULTON, N.Y., U.S.A.”. The 2 rifle bbls share a beavertail forend & are equipped with extractors. This fine bbl work was carried out by Kirk Merrington. Receiver has been sculpted & reshaped to resemble an English sidelock by Dale Tate & engraved by Charles Lee in fine, Purdy-style, rose-&-scroll pattern. Mounted with stunning piece of highly figured walnut with checkered straight grip, gold initial shield and heel & toe plates by stockmaker Bill Harvey. The brilliant case colors were done by Don Menk Case Color Co. This unique one-of-a-kind set is housed in an oak & leather case, with brass corners, by John Fallon. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain nearly all of their fine custom professional blue. Receiver retains virtually all of its fine brilliant case colors. Stock & forearms with just a couple of very minor tiny handling marks, sharp crisp checkering & fine professional hand-rubbed oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, automatic 2-way safety, strong ejectors in shotgun bbls with nice shiny bores. Rifle bbls both have fine shiny bores.
