STEVENS PERCUSSION TARGET RIFLE WITH REMINGTON BARREL AND REMINGTON LOCK. NSN. 44 Cal. 32-1/2” oct bbl. Marked “REMINGTON” on engraved lockplate and “H. STEVENS / CAST STEEL” on the top flat of the engraved bbl. “RH”, presumably the owner’s initials, have been stamped on the bbl and tang. Brass mountings except for silver wedge escutcheons and pewter forearm tip. Iron ramrod with ball screw at the end. The folding peep sight is mounted at the rear of the tang. The elevator on the rear bbl side is a replacement. “S.W. Good” is scratched on a German silver-plate on the left flat of the stock. CONDITION: Brown patina mixed with light pitting. Stock shows repair beneath the lockplate and at the lockplate screw. Wood has been refinished. Mechanically good. 4-59362 FS607 (1,000-1,500)
