*SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 NRA SPORTER. Cal. 30-06. SN 1366799. Standard NRA Sporter with 24” tapered rnd bbl dated “9-30” with sleeved front sight, grooved bbl band and Lyman 48S receiver sight with target knobs. There is no evidence of a star gauge mark on the muzzle. It has nickel steel bolt and is mounted in a straight grain half stock with semi-pistol grip and checkered steel buttplate with sling swivels. This rifle is one of about 4,946 such rifles built in period 1923-1938. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbl retains 96-97% strong orig blue with front sight band a blue/brown patina. Receiver retains about 90% thinning orig blue with triggerguard & floorplate retaining most of their orig blue. Stock is sound retaining a fine oil finish. Buttplate is somewhat oversized and does not fit well. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-30800 JR229 (1,500-2,000)
