CLASSICAL CAMEO GLASS EWER. Exceptional ewer has white cameo classical battle scene encircling the body of the ewer. Scene is bordered on the bottom with a spray of leaves and on top by a line of grape leaves. All set against a rich blue background. Ewer is finished with an applied glass handle with an intricately carved goddess’s face at the bottom. Ewer is signed near the bottom of the classical scene with a signature that appears could read “Stevens & Williams 1914”. We can not discern the signature for certain and the piece appears to be very similar to known examples of very rare Venetian cameo glass. SIZE: 6-1/4″ t. CONDITION: Handle has been reattached, otherwise in very good condition. 5-64640 (1,500-2,500)
