CARLETON WIGGINS (American, 1848-1932) SHEPHERD WITH SHEEP. Oil on canvas landscape scene shows a grass area with water puddle laden dirt road with trees in a flat landscape with flock of sheep and shepherd. Dark clouds are moving in from the right. Possible a Long Island, NY scene. Signed lower left. Housed in a very fine period and probably original gesso decorated frame with two gilt wood liners, one having an artist plaque. SIZE: 9″ x 11-1/2″. CONDITION: Relined, minor touch-up, very good. 9-99118 (2,000-3,000)
