MASSIVE ENGRAVED BEN SHOSTLE DAMASCUS DAGGER.

MASSIVE ENGRAVED BEN SHOSTLE DAMASCUS DAGGER. Fabulous dagger with 12-3/4″ dbl edged dagger blade and 1-9/16″ across ricasso x 1/4″ thick, 19-1/4″ overall. Blade is hammered Damascus with wonderful swirling patterns and a diamond shaped grind with flat area running from handguard 7-1/2″ down the blade. Handguard is rectangular with swelled center 2″ long x about 1-1/4″ wide at widest point x 3/4″ thick with dbl tapered 9-faceted handguards with 9-faceted finials. Handle is spiral grooved ivory with machined steel ferrule and butt cap also with nine facets to match the handguards. Both sides of blade and rectangular center of handguard are beautifully engraved with shaded background also by Ben Shostle with his name incorporated in the engraving on one ricasso. Top of rectangular handguard is engraved to match while bottom of handguard is engraved in a dbl dash border which borders are also found on the handle ferrule & butt cap. Accompanied by a red velvet covered foam lined, glass topped walnut case. Altogether a spectacular and wonderfully made knife by a well-known maker & engraver. CONDITION: Knife is new & unsharpened retaining about all of its orig custom finish to both metal & ivory. Case is fine. 4-40981 JR331 (4,000-8,000)
