*SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 DUCK SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 19779. Cal. 12 ga. 32″ bbls with tapered, matted, concave rib, silver center & silver front sighting beads, 3″ chambers, FULL / FULL chokes, sgl selective trigger & ejectors. Side of left bbl at chamber area marked “WINCHESTER – 12 GAUGE / 3 IN. CHAM.”. Standard receiver with “DUCK” marked above trigger plate screw. Mounted in fancy flame grain walnut with checkered pistol grip, sculpted steel grip cap & Winchester replacement red recoil pad. Checkered beavertail forend. Bore diameter: left -.730, right -.734. Bore restrictions: left -.031, right -.033. Wall thickness: left -.038, right -.035. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz. LOP 15-1/8″. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Museum fact sheet identifying gun as 12 ga. “DUCK” with 32″ FULL / FULL bbls, pistol grip, Winchester pad, 13-5/8″ pull, 2-3/8″ drop at heel, 1-1/2″ drop at comb; completed Sept. 27, 1948. Other remarks: regular width comb; right pull heavy, over 5-1/2 lbs. Also included in fact sheet were hand-written notes dated 7/5-6/1961 describing gun & “adjust action to ensure trigger pull within specifications; test-fire thoroughly to make sure it does not double; test-fire at Pine Swamp before returning to customer; complaint: started to fire both shells at once; investigation: right trigger has light pull, metal parts are worn & marred; beavertail forearm & butt stock are worn, scratched & dented; complaint justified”. CONDITION: Very fine, as factory restored. Bbls retain 97-98% factory restored blue with just some minor handling marks & some faint thinning near muzzle. Receiver retains most of its fine factory restored blue. Stock is solid & numbered to gun, with minor chip behind top tang, just a few minor nicks & dings and fine hand-rubbed finish. Forend is sound & numbered to gun, with a few minor nicks & dings, oil finish & hand-rubbed patina across bottom. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors & shiny bores. 4-35233 BDT112 (6,000-8,000)
