WILLIAM PARTRIDGE BURPEE (American, 1846-1940) UNDER THE APPLE TREE. Fine oil on canvas scene shows a man with oxen pulled plow tilling a garden area having a large blossoming apple tree surrounded by grass and flower field, corn crib and fence. Signed lower left “W P Burpee”. Housed in an excellent modern carved wood and gilt frame having a wide carved gilt liner with gilt wood artist plaque. SIZE: 18″ x 22″.
