ROPER REVOLVING SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 311. 4-shot revolving shotgun with 28-1/2” rnd bbl with sgl bead and adjustable choke at muzzle. Unusual revolving arm in that cocking hammer rotates the enclosed cylinder and bolt remains open until trigger is pulled which then drives the cartridge into chamber and fires it. Mounted with straight grain, American walnut, uncheckered, with tapered rnd forearm with pewter tip. It has a finger rest trigger guard & smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains traces of orig finish, being mostly a blue/brown patina and receiver is a silver/gray patina. Wood is sound, dark & oil stained. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with scattered pitting. 8-76183 JR566 (1,000-1,500)
