*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 21 CUSTOM WITH GOLD AND CASE. SN W32619. Cal. 20 ga. 26″ vent rib bbl with Lyman ivory center and Lyman red bead front sight. Top of rib marked “Custom Built by Winchester for Jenkins Gun Inc.”. Top of left bbl marked “Model 21 – Winchester – 20 gauge – 2 3/4 Cham. / Made in New Haven Conn. U.S.A.”. The 21-1 engraved receiver has rare special ordered gold with pointing pointer on left side and pheasant in flight on right. Mounted with flame grain walnut, checkered pistol grip with steel gripcap, checkered butt, gold initial oval, checkered beavertail forend with ebony insert tip. Choked WS1/WS2. Gold single selector trigger and ejectors. Accompanied with Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying gun as 20 ga, 26″, 2-3/4″ chambers, ventilated rib, panel in rib engraved, choked WS1/WS2, non-automatic safety, Lyman red bead front and Lyman ivory middle sight, Custom Built For Jenkins Gun Inc., gold pheasant inlay center right side, pointer dog center left side, gold oval nameplate underside, started inspection November 19, 1968, completed February 17, 1969. Ned Schwing’s book “Winchester’s Finest, Model 21” indicates that custom grade guns with gold inlays are extremely rare, stating that there were only three ordered. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Gun appears new, test fired only, with only a very few slight handling marks. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors and bright shiny bore.
