*SCARCE DELUXE PIGENON GRADE WINCHESTER MODEL 12 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 1534483. Rare Model 12 with 25-5/8” vent rib bbl choked IMP-CYL with Bradley red ivory front bead & silver middle bead with rnd post & donut rib. Mounted with extremely beautiful, center crotch cut, flame grain, American walnut with diamond checkered forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/4” over a Winchester embossed, hard rubber buttplate. Bottom of takedown housing has a pigeon engraved just above serial number. Attempts to function test with 28 ga. snap caps were unsuccessful. Magazine tube appears to be oversized and while the cartridge stop is marked 28 ga., it will not engage the cartridge rim and allows the cartridge to run past, jamming the action. While this appears to be a fine, rare orig Model 12, it may be an expertly crafted creation. Accompanied by a modern green canvas & leather trunk case. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as new. Appears to be unfired, retaining virtually all of its fine blue on the metal & varnish on the wood. Mechanics, as noted above, bright shiny bore. Case is fine. 4-30270 JR66 (3,000-5,000)
