*UNUSUAL PRE-WAR F. W. HEYM SIDE-PLATED BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN. SN 2030. Cal. 16 Ga. 2-1/2″ Chambers. 29″ Dovetailed barrels with wide, flat, raised, matted rib with Greener crossbolt extension, is engraved “Fr. W. Heym” “Suhl” on tops. Tops of bbls are also stamped with Krupp steel nomenclature and 3-ring logos. Breech ends of bbls have interesting reverse side clips in the form of projecting lobes which engage recesses on sides of fences. There is nicely cut scroll engraving emanating from these lobes. Bbl flats are stamped with German nitro proofs, with proof date of 7/24. Bottoms of bbls have more proofs, SN, and “16”. Sling loop is soldered to bottom rib. Case hardened side-plated boxlock action has proofs and SN on water table, and features automatic safety (“Sicher” inlaid in gold), Greener crossbolt, and hinged front trigger. Action is engraved with about 60% coverage of very well cut shaded open scroll with geometric borders. Blued trigger guard and top lever have matching engraving. Lever and rear of rib are engraved with no. “2”. Very nicely figured and lightly marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over wood butt, skip line checkered on lower half. Stock features diamond hand, inlaid horn diamond drop points, and 24 LPI semi-flat top checkering with line border. There is a sling loop on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend has Deeley release, and inlaid horn tip. SN and “2” are on polished inside of iron. Bore diameter: left -.673, right -.673. Bore restrictions: left -.031, right -.037. Wall thickness: left -.024, right -.026. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 9.6 oz, LOP 14-1/8″. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 90% original blue, silvering at muzzles and sharp edges, with a few thin spots. Action and lockplates retain most of their original case color, silvering and muting in normal carry and wear areas, quite vivid where protected. Trigger guard and top lever retain most of their original blue, silvered on high points and at grip. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish, with some oil rubbed in over the years. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are out of time. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny, with one very small dent 10″ from muzzle on right bbl.
