*UNIQUE EXHIBITION CSM MODEL 21 DOUBLE RIFLE. SN WR38513. Cal. 405 WIN. 24″ bbls, front ramp with fine bead front sight, hand filed 1/4 rib with two leaf express sight, 3″ wedge with scroll engraving over each chamber, left bbl marked “Model 21 – CSM / Trademark – .405 WIN”. The reinforced receiver, with added breech face fastener, is fully engraved with superb foliate arabesque scroll with stippled background, oak leaves with stippled background across fences, left side of receiver having gold kudo and gold majestic male lion. Right side with gold buffalo and gold leopard. Bottom of trigger plate with gold rino and gold cheetah on trigger guard. Consignor states he commissioned Geoffrey Gournet to execute the outstanding gold animals found on this gun. Mounted with exhibition flame grade walnut, fleur de lis carved and checkered pistol grip with scroll engraved sculpted steel grip cap, leather covered pad, gold initial oval, fleur de lis carved and checkered beavertail forend with ebony insert tip. Accompanied with factory oak and leather case with label and accessories, brass corners and brown canvas cover with leather corners. Also included are two unopened boxes of Superior ammo, and a full open box, all marked January 30, 08, and a partial box of seven marked to Connecticut Shotguns February 28, 06. It should be noted that 21 Double Rifles, other than 22 cal, are no longer found in the CSM Catalog, believed to be prohibitively expensive to build. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears as new since completion. Metal surfaces retain virtually all of their fine original blue with stock and forend having only minor handling marks and retaining virtually all of their fine original finish. Mechanics are crisp with non-automatic safety, strong ejectors, and bright shiny bores. Gun is probably unfired since completion and a little stiff to open and close. 4-35773 BDT173 (50,000-60,000)
