*SCARCE SMITH & WESSON 1ST MODEL TRIPLE LOCK DA REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Spcl. SN 3997. Scarce early revolver with 7-1/2” bbl, pedestal front sight, with a Lyman ivory bead blade. It has round top receiver with original adjustable rear sight. It is fitted with diamond checkered walnut grips without medallion. Accompanied by a Smith & Wesson letter indicating that this revolver was shipped July 20, 1909 to William Hoegee Co., Los Angeles, CA. CONDITION: Very good. All matching including the grips. Retains 75-80% bright original finish, worn and thin on the sides of the bbl and edges of the cylinder. Sideplate is flaked and the frame has a few scattered spots of fine light rust. Fine mechanics and bright shiny bore. Grips show moderate to heavy wear. 4-51870 JR497 (600-1,000)
