MINTONS COVERED DISH, ROYAL WORCESTER FIGURINE, AND SAMSON ARMORIAL URN. Second half 19th century. The first, an oval indigo leaf-form bowl with conforming lid and undertray, marked “MINTONS” underglaze. The Royal Worcester figural sugar shaker modeled as a young boy with ruffled collar, broad-brimmed hat, and breeches, with green mark underglaze. The small Samson urn with lid centering an armorial shield flanked by lion and unicorn above a banner reading “SOLA MIRTUS INVICTA”, decorated overall with floral sprigs, with mark underglaze. SIZE: The first: 6″ h. x 9″ l. x 7-1/2″ w. The second: 7″ h. The third: 5-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Mintons bowl with flakes and small chips in glaze, one finial, and edges of lid and bowl; the undertray with glazing chips on edge and a larger half-inch chip on edge. The figurine and urn with no damage or repairs. All in very good overall condition. 9-93702 (400-600)
