*CUSTOM GINO CARGNELL WINCHESTER MODEL 12 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 1352780. Spectacular Model 12 with 26” factory vent rib bbl choked WS-1 with Bradley red ivory front bead and metal middle bead. Mounted with very highly figured, crotch cut, flame grain walnut with triple diamond checkered large forearm and checkered pistol grip stock, 14-1/2” over a solid red Winchester pad. Receiver is spectacularly engraved in Mr. Cargnell’s trademark style of phenomenal detail with large vignettes of three Indians on horseback rounding up and roping wild horses on left side. It has large raised gold figures of one Indian on horseback casting his lariat toward two raised gold horses. Background is desert scene with sandstone buttes. Right side depicts, in equally fantastic detail, three American cowboys and a herd of cattle with one of cowboys on horseback in raised gold about to cast his gold lariat at two raised gold steers, also set in a desert scene with sandstone buttes in background. This is all surrounded by extremely well executed foliate arabesque patterns with very fine punch dot backgrounds. Vignettes, top & front of receiver are outlined in gold wire. Takedown ring, both sides of bbl, bottom of magazine tube, magazine cap & around muzzle are engraved to match with gold wire borders on takedown ring, magazine cap and around muzzle. Triggerguard, also engraved to match, has an elliptical gold inlay with initials “JFN”. Serial numbers & takedown arrow are inlaid in gold and Mr. Cargnell’s signature is on bottom of receiver in front of loading port. Grip cap is stamped gold with a blank initial ribbon. Receiver is finished in the white. Gino Cargnell was a premier engraver in Belgium before emigrating to the U.S.A. at the encouragement of Angelo Bee, whose techniques & styles Mr. Cargnell assimilated into his already extensive talent. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains virtually all of its wonderful custom finish to both metal & wood. May have been fired, but if so, very little.
