*SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1926 3RD MODEL HAND EJECTOR TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Spcl. SN 54740. Scarce early target revolver, blued finish, 6-1/2” bbl, partridge front sight, round top frame with adjustable rear sight, with diamond checkered silver medallion magna grips. Accompanied by a modern mahogany box. Also accompanies is a Smith & Wesson letter identifying this revolver as having been shipped October 15, 1940 to Bluefield Hardward Supply Co., Bluefield, West Virginia. The records further indicate that it was specially ordered for the “Little War Creek Coal Co.” CONDITION: Very fine. All matching including the grips. Retains 94-96% strong bright original blue and about 98% muted case colors on the trigger & hammer. Has a faint cylinder line with a few spots of light pitting on the sideplate and left rear of the frame. Grips are fine showing moderate wear. Crisp mechanics and bright shiny bore.
