LOT OF 2 TRAPDOOR SPRINGFIELD RIFLES. Cal. 45-70. 1) Model 1884. SN 386915. Standard rifle with 32 1/2” bbl, square base front sight, ski jump rear sight, 1-pc stock without trap. CONDITION: About good. No original finish remains on the metal, gray/brown patina with light pitting. Sound wood, 50% original finish with nicks and dings. Strong dark bore. 2) Model 1888, ramrod bayonet model with 32 1/2” bbl, 1-pc stock with trap. Lockplate and breechblock dated 1884. CONDITION: Fair. No original finish remains. Clean gray patina overall. Replacement stock as there is no cutout in the butt under the trap. Wood is sound with most of an old refinish. 4-52277 JR112 (700-1,200)
