RENAISSANCE VICTORIAN WALNUT GENTLEMAN’S CHAIR WITH TWO MATCHING SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1860. The armchair with scrolling carved crest continuing to the shield back above the circular overupholstered seat flanked by shaped ‘S’-scrolled molded arms and supports, raised on frontal molded cabriole legs, terminating in brass casters. The side chairs similarly carved and upholstered without casters. SIZE: Armchair: 41″ h. Side chair: 39″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: Fine original untouched condition with good patina, all covered in tufted metallic pewter silk fabric. 9-93624 (700-900)
