*FINE PAIR OF BERETTA S3 SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUNS WITH CASE. SN 34884/ 34955. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Mono-block barrels with flat narrow matted ventilated ribs are stamped with “P. Beretta – Made in Italy” and “Bohler * Antinit Steel” on top bbl. Mono-blocks are stamped “S3”, SN, and have Italian nitro proofs. (Gun no. 34955 for 1968, and 34884 for 1969.) Rear portion of ribs has nos. “1” and “2” inlaid in gold on each gun respectively. Coin finished sidelock actions feature non-automatic safeties (“S” engraved), and non-selective single triggers. Actions and lockplates are engraved with nearly full coverage of open acanthus with floral terminations, and scroll background. Bottoms of actions are engraved “Brevettato Italy”, and “P. Beretta – Gardone – V.T.”. Matching blued trigger guards are engraved “Mod. S. 3.” on tangs which also have the nos. “1” or “2” inlaid in gold. Well matched slightly marbled and figured European walnut semi-pistol grip buttstocks measure 14-7/16″ over black “Old English” pads, with point pattern checkering at 24 LPI with line border. Matching one piece forends have Deeley type releases with “1” or “2” inlaid in gold on latches. Gun no. 1: Bore diameter: top -.724, bottom -.725. Bore restrictions: top -.035, bottom -.023. Wall thickness: top -.038, bottom -.037. Drop at heel: 1-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 8 oz, LOP 14-7/16″. Gun no. 2: Bore diameter: top -.724, bottom -.731. Bore restrictions: top -.035, bottom -.025. Wall thickness: top -.036, bottom -.035. Drop at heel: 1-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 7 oz, LOP 14-7/16″. Tan leather two-gun square “leg o’ mutton” -type case is embossed “C. L. M.” on top, is marked “Made in Spain” on ends, and is lined in red cloth. CONDITION: Excellent, nearly new. Bbls retain nearly all their original blue. Actions and lockplates retain virtually all their coin finish. Wood has virtually all of their original finish with very few minor marks.
