LOT OF 2 SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR RIFLES. Cal. 45-70. 1) Model 1884. SN 260808. Standard rifle with 32 1/2” bbl, replaced front sight, Buffington rear sight. CONDITION: Good. Dark brown patina overall with traces of silvered case colors on the breechblock and lockplate. 50% colors on the tang. Stock has a hairline by lockplate screw, otherwise a smooth patina. Bright bore with moderate pitting. 2) Model 1884. SN 358191. Standard rifle with 32 1/2” bbl, replacement front sight, Buffington rear sight, 1886 cartouche. CONDITION: Very good plus. 60-70% bbl blue with light surface rust. 75% case colors on breechblock and lockplate. Wood is sound with good original finish and a few gouges and dings. Bright shiny bore with a few spots of pitting. Should be a good shooter. 4-52290 JR106 (600-1,000)
