*EXTREMELY RARE SMALL FRAME FINELY ENGRAVED PERAZZI S C O GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 10057. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-5/8″ Mono-block barrels with flat matted ventilated rib are stamped “PERAZZI spa – MADE IN BRESCIA – ITALY” on top left of mono-block. Bottom is stamped with 1981 Italian nitro proofs, SN, and “MAP”. Left sides of bbls have chamber and choke data. Bottom of bottom bbl is stamped “Acciaio Special”. Coin finished and nicely scaled down 20 ga. action features non-automatic safety (“Sicura” inlaid in gold) and non-selective single trigger. Action is engraved with deeply cut scrolled acanthus with background of lighter small scroll. Bottom of action is engraved “* S – C – O *”, and has vignette of pointer retrieving pheasant. Sides of action and sideplates have borderless renditions of game birds; left side showing quattro of mallards, two drakes and two hens, settling into marsh; right side depicts covey of Hungarian partridge with setter in background, two members of covey have obviously been shot recently, as feathers are flying. Backgrounds and skies are nicely detailed. Engravers signature “Dacchi” (?) is on bottom of each vignette on action. Dark, nicely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over brown “Decelerator” pad, and features diamond hand and 32 LPI borderless checkering. One piece matching forend has Schnabel tip and Deeley type fastener. Bore diameter: top -.626, with interchangeable chokes. Bottom -.626 with interchangeable chokes. Wall thickness: top -.033, bottom -.034. Drop at heel: 2-3/16″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs. 5 oz, LOP 14-1/4″. Black ABS case is embossed “Perazzi Brescia Italy” on top, and is lined in maroon velvet printed with Perazzi logo, and includes black cloth bags for action and bbls, and plastic container with 3 Briley choke tubes and tube wrench. PROVENANCE: Consignor states: “SN 10057 Cal. 20 ga. One of only 50 miniature framed guns made in the early 1980’s, even smaller than the subsequent Pachmayer run of 20 ga. guns made by Perazzi. This is one of only 6 sideplated SCO guns made by the factory. This gun is listed by SN in Perazzi book by Carl Lippard.” CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain nearly all of their original blue, silvering at muzzles, and from contact with forend. Action retains all of its coin finish with no noticeable areas of darkening. Stocks retain most of their original finish, with a number of light scratches, mostly on right side of buttstock. There is a small repaired chip on right portion of butt near transition to pad. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works. Bores are excellent. Case is fine with numerous marks and rubs on exterior. Cloth is detaching from lid and in some compartments. Choke tubes are fine. 4-40243 MGM149 (17,500-25,000)
